So I'm going to ladder to max and see if it gets better.

My buddy shoots the 168 Hornady match. He uses the Varget at 45-45.5 I know that's higher then what the new books say for powder but he uses older books before they went to conservative.

I'm with you bro, I'm not opposed to going higher. I'm going to work my way up, I'm going to load 3 rounds .2 at a time. Does he do a factory crimp. It helped in the lower ones.

Ya that's how I usually go up to pin point what works best but I usually do groups of 5. No my buddy does not crimp but I have heard it helping some loads.

Yessir look at the two pictures of 42.0 grains one with a crimp one without. It tightened it up. I pulled a shot on both groups. I wasn't very comfortable, I was in my side by side with my gun over ther front on the by pod. Wasn't bad at first. Lol got cramped after awhile. The thing to move my pic nic table out there next time.

Yes the crimp definitely looks like it pulled the group in tighter. What is the trigger pull weight? On my 223 volt it was grouping 3/4 once I found a load it like then put a Timney trigger in set it down to 2 pounds and my rounds are starting to touch finally. But this is also using a shooting bench so that helps being able to sit. Hope to get a new stock next.

It's a timney, in my ar's I put saber triggers and I'm happy with them. Hundred bucks, and made well. Shoot very well with them.
