Shane I don't know what how many gr. My friend is using in his .308 off hand but he is using the Hornady 168gr. Match bullet with Varget and he is shooting half a MOA . It's taken him some time tweaking the powder and seating depth but it's been a great combo for him!

I ladder tested from 42.0 to 43.6, of varget. 45 rounds. My shoulder hurts lol. I pulled on a few shots but found some promising loads that I'll explore. Here's a few targets. I sighed my rifle in towards the end forum 150 Gn bullets do they were low.

Your load is starting to pull together. I wonder if bumping up to 44.4gr. would help. I've always had better luck on being closer to max load using Varget. I looked at the data real quick for the 150gr bullet max was showing 44.9 for varget.

I left out those were the 168Gn z max. I rushed the last two shots due to rain. I knew better. Your right I'm going to try ther max 44.0 grain I tried the 43.4 with a light crimp to see if it would help Sunday. They shot too the right of target. So I'm going to ladder to max and see if it gets better.

My buddy shoots the 168 Hornady match. He uses the Varget at 45-45.5 I know that's higher then what the new books say for powder but he uses older books before they went to conservative.

I'm with you bro, I'm not opposed to going higher. I'm going to work my way up, I'm going to load 3 rounds .2 at a time. Does he do a factory crimp. It helped in the lower ones.

Ya that's how I usually go up to pin point what works best but I usually do groups of 5. No my buddy does not crimp but I have heard it helping some loads.
