    Locking Concealment Nightstand

Anybody have some good recommendations on a nightstand with a hidden compartment that has a lock? Ideally something with quick access. I have one now but with a kid on the way I would prefer to be able to lock it. Can't think of a good way to put a lock on this one that wouldn't be a pain to operate, especially in a hurry...

I've seen several but they typically don't have a lock or at least don't mention having one. Or they are ungodly expensive like $1500+...

How hard would it be to make your own. Unless you wanted it extra secure or some electronic stuff involved.
Problem I see is hitting a happy medium between security and instant weapon availability. --- SAWMAN
Why just dance when you can "rock and roll".

I hate wood work... I lack a lot of the tools and experience you need to do good wood work... my homemade doghouse looks horrible... haha

Yeah. I figure the odds of my kid getting into the firearm are much greater than my odds of needing it immediately. I have dogs that are quick to bark at odd noises so hopefully that would buy me the necessary time needed to open the lock.

I finally bought a big gun safe as well as 2 locking cabinets. 1 for powder and primers and 1 for loaded ammo.
