I shoot and carry only my reloads. Primarily Hornady XTP hollow points. I saw an excellent YouTube video on reloads for self defense by a lawyer the other day. If I can find it, I'll share it.

What are you guys doing to test your defensive ammo to ensure it performs adequately? I would like to load my own defensive ammo, but want to make sure it will perform well. I have a chronograph that I can use. Are you just trying to find out what groups well at a high enough velocity for it to properly expand?
