    New pistol break in.

Took my new S&W M&P 2.0 Compact out to the range today. Found it rather interesting that some of my lighter target loads wouldn't fully cycle the slide. Ran 200+ rounds of some warmer loads with zero issues. Tried the lighter loads again and it cycled 90% percent of the rounds. Only a .2 grain difference is all it took between rounds that would cycle and ones that wouldn't.
All in all very happy with the pistol!!

I was amazed at the difference in groups when I bumped my 38 Spc load up .2 gr, it went from throwing rocks to clover leafing at 15 yards freehanded. I really didn’t think .2 gr was that big of a deal until then.

Definitely interesting especially with pistol rounds. I had some for my 92fs that puked the bullet into the barrel. Had 4 other loads that day and the next batch was .2 grains higher and ran the gun perfectly.

I heard that, prior to that event my standard work up for pistols was choose a charge weight just above the minimum and let it ride, after seeing the difference .2 gr made, I work up just like a rifle load. Now that I have my 38 figured out. I have to do the 45’s and 9mm’s.

I do the same, even for my lower power target rounds. Makes for a more enjoyable shooting experience when you trust your ammo completely. [emoji846]
