    M1917 30-06 rebored/chambered to 9.3x62

I had an old Remington M1917 hiding in the back of the gun safe. I picked it up years ago for cheap, with the intent to do something different with it.

I had read a bunch of good reviews online about “Reboring by JES” , so checked his website and read over the list of bores and calibers he does. I settled on 9.3x62 and sent him the barreled action and a check. In less than three weeks I got it back ready to go.

I ordered a coyote laminate classic stock from Boyd’s, which showed up today, and got it all put together. I hope it shoots as good as it looks.

Kind of ironic, I built a 35 Whelen AI on a 1908 98 Mauser-American classic cartridge on a decidedly European classic action, and here you've done nearly the same thing in reverse. Nice rifle.

That thought went through my mind when I was deciding on caliber, but I couldn’t resist. The 9.3x62 rounds out my 9.3 collection nicely. Ive got a 9.3x57 in an old husqvarna mauser (96 I believe), and a 9.3x74R in a Ruger No. 1.

Smart, stick with one bullet diameter for reloading. There was a time once when I had a whole slew of different 7mm/.284 cartridges for the same reason.

I’m not that smart. I have rifle calibers for everything from .172 to .458, except .40 and .416. I’m a junkie.

No range for me last weekend, 20mph winds with gusts up to 30. No thanks. Hopefully this weekend will be better.
