What is “ Strong Action “? I’m looking at load data and this keeps coming up. I’m wanting to load 350 grain flat point for a Henry 45-70. Any help here would be much appreciated.

The stronger actions are usually considered the:
Ruger #1
Mauser
NEF Handi Rifle
Win92
Reloading manuals are usually divided into three categories for the 45-70Govt. 1.Trapdoor 2. Marlin1895 lever action, and 3. RUGER #1.
Load as per the Marlin 1895 and you will be ok. --- SAWMAN

Sawman, did you forget to list the Winchester 1886 ?
I have a Perdoselli Winchester 1886/71
.45-70 and while I have no intention of making it a .458 Winchester Magnum, it is rated as a very strong action. It is also chambered in the .45-90.
The time zone difference gave me the advantage.
Back in the day . . . I never could seem to get enough powder in my Ruger #1 45-70 so I had it punched out to 45-90Express. ---> OUCH !! <--- ---- SAWMAN

Go to Buffalo Bore's site and look through their 45-70 stuff.
Look through their loads. It gives their opinion of the differing firearms related to the cartridges they suggest of varying velocities and pressures.
