    T/C Compass

Has anyone tried these rifles out? If so any feed back? The local gun store has them on sale for $200 after the rebate. Haven't decided on a caliber yet (I already have .223,.22-250,.308 of the calibers available).

I have heard for the money, they aren't bad rifles.
Not super slick and smooth, and not match grade accuracy, but can't expect that for the price.

For a hunting rifle, I would say it would be fine.
Any idea of what caliber you might want it in?
What is the intended purpose of it? Hunting, target, plinked?

It would mainly a hunting gun(wild hogs and other large game). As far as a caliber I'm not sure. I was thinking maybe 7mm-08 or 7mm, maybe even a 270

7mm-08 and 7mm Rem Mag would be good ones to add to your collection.
I would guess either one would good to 300+ yards on game, with a decent optic on top

7mm-08 is a decent round, and easier to get brass for, and less recoil.
7mm Rem mag is a go getter, way more recoil, and can shoot heavier bullets
Just boils down to personal choice for what animals you plan to hunt

TC makes some great stuff. I have heard since Smith & Wesson bought them out quality has slipped a little. I personally haven't seen it, but I haven't bought any new TC stuff recently so I don't know for sure. Some of the hardcore TC Encore guys told me only buy the frame from them. Buy your stock, barrel, scope mount, pins, etc. from aftermarket companies. That being said I have only heard good stuff re: the Compass. As mentioned for the $$$ I believe it is probably a heck of a buy! I wish they had more calibers. I have all they offer in other rifle brands. Wish they ran a .257 Bob, 264 Win mag, or something a bit different.
