110gr Barnes tac-tx is a very good bullet.

I have killed 5 or 6 deer and around 30 hogs with 300 blk, only 2 deer with the Barnes 110 Black tips and everything else with Hornady 110 grain V-max. The Barnes made a beautiful bullet that I found in the deer both times. I have only recovered 1 of the v-max and it was from a 200 pound boar that I shoulder shot, everything else had complete pass throughs.

Any sign of fragmentation when using the 110 gr V-max?

The 1 that I found was badly mangled but was mainly in 1 wad. The jacket seems to mostly disappear but the lead seems to remain intact. All of the exits have been single holes with no visible splatter on the inside. Next one may surprise me but so far I have been impressed. The majority of these have been out of a 10.5 inch barrel, 1 from an 8.5 and a couple from 16s.

The 110gr barnes tac-tx is probably most people’s first choice, followed by the 125 sst and 125 bt. I’ve read good things about the 110vmax, like a GaryS said, performing well on game. I’ve only ever used the barnes when hunting but will eventually try the others too.
