Wednesday turned in to a crappy day at the range.

My new Kimber has been home for about six weeks and has less than a thousand rounds down the barrel. For some reason the two piece guide rod decided that since I prefer a one piece guide rod it would accommodate me by self destructing during my range session. I suspect the other piece of the guide rod went somewhere down range. Who knows.

I am calling Kimber early in the morning. Hopefully I get a replacement sometime before next week. Too bad that Wes does not run their shipping department.

That's why you never do 2 piece guide rods! They come apart when you don't want them too. Either 1 piece or Browning's original design. I have a Wilson 1 piece and love yes disassembly sucks but they don't break ..

Yeah I hate the things, but that is what it came with. I want a factory set up in case it ever goes back for warranty work but you can bet it will be running something else

Yes they did. Kimber took good care of me. It was literally a three minute phone call to tell them what I needed and my address. Of course shipping was not up to par with what Wes has, but it was not a bad experience at all

That’s good to hear. I’ve personally never heard anything about their service, good or bad.

I only have a couple kimbers, and they have had zero issues.
