Sounds like a picky rifle. Better brass prep, and seating depth changes could really tighten it up.
May need to Neck Size only

I have a similar Savage 22-250, have scoped the bbl-it's good-and haven't shot btr than 1.5moa with it, even with Z-Max's. Lemmeknow if you solve this!

Are you running the 50 gr bullets in 22-250. Thought I'd try them on some prairie dogs.

Lots of people running them with great results.
These things are so accurate, and explosive like I have never seen!!

I’ve used IMR 3031 for years in my 22-250. Still do. It’s just an ol Remington 788 but she’s a shooter with 3031

Remington should go back to making the 788's. They were better out of the box than a lot of today's rifles.

Where in MN are you located? I just moved from MN to ND and was just west of the cities. I know a few good reloading shops out that way.

I had some early experiences with my 1:9” Savage .223 that have lead me away from anything lighter than 55gr bullets in my rifle. Reading this thread though makes me think I need to try again. I am amazed that so many of you, using the faster twisted barrels are having such good results!

Here’s a question though, are the z-max and same weight v-max getting same results for you guys? Can they be swapped indiscriminately between the two with the same groups or are they slightly different bullets that need to be loaded uniquely? I’ve been curious about this for a long time but never really looked into it.
