I had some early experiences with my 1:9” Savage .223 that have lead me away from anything lighter than 55gr bullets in my rifle. Reading this thread though makes me think I need to try again. I am amazed that so many of you, using the faster twisted barrels are having such good results!

Here’s a question though, are the z-max and same weight v-max getting same results for you guys? Can they be swapped indiscriminately between the two with the same groups or are they slightly different bullets that need to be loaded uniquely? I’ve been curious about this for a long time but never really looked into it.

They both print the same groups, in the same place for me. Pretty sure they're the
same bullet with different color tips.

Wes, you weren’t kidding when you said they like to go fast. Notice how the groups tighten up as the charge went up. IMG_2645.JPG

I've got a howa in .308 with the axiom stock and a timney trigger and a barska swat 10-40x52 that will put them inside a quarter. The trigger made a big difference, had better groups with the Nikon. Thinking about getting a vortex.

I never get that good grouping. There’s always a flyer to ruin the group.

Turn your scope down a bit or shoot at a dark target so you don’t see your group as it is shot. Bet that flier goes away! It did for me! [emoji6]
