If you do go with the t track, don’t be too scared to use a router. It’s a very quick learning process. Make it easy on yourself by using a straight track against the router to guide you so you get a perfectly straight channel for the track. Just set your plunge depth and take it slow at first. You’ll be proud of having learned to use a new tool and you’ll be satisfied with the result. I’m about to install some track on my own bench for mounting several tools(bench vise, bench grinder, powder measure, etc).
