I would like to read some things we could do for accidents we are likely to see at a gun range or on a hunting trip (in terms for us not in the medical field). Great post, I will have to read it 5 or 6 times, but that's my fault.
If you can’t understand it, I would honestly look at taking an ems and tccc course if it is something you want to learn. The last thing you want to do is unknowingly cause more harm when you stick a needle through someone’s chest because you read about it on the internet. Not saying you would do that, but some people would.

I've thought about taking some courses and it would be nice to be able to at least keep someone comfortable (or maybe alive) till the experts arrive.

Thats understandable. Its definitely a good skill to have. I have a small trauma bag that I keep in my truck, for just these sorts of things.
