    Sheridan slotted gauge question 223

My coal is set at 2.250 and I see the bullet hitting the bottom of the gauge which is causing it to stick slightly. Instructions say it fits coal of 2.260. Anyone else have this issue. Brass checks out fine as a FYI and Chambers perfect in my AR. Bullet is 50gr Hornady zmax. Any help would be appreciated. I did email Sheridan as well. Thanks folks.

It may be the ogive on that bullet. They tend to be a bit higher, and seating a light bullet out farther can cause that.
I hardly every use the Sheridan for checking loaded rounds.
I use it for full brass checks, then set the ammo according to the rifle itself. Once I have that, I just run em
