This is a great way of doing this! I have used this method often through the years in multiple circumstances. A little time consuming, but I always felt very confident in the results.

Out of all my 7x57 brass, the Hornady is the shortest at the shoulder. There are only 7 pieces, so I figured it would be the perfect starting point. I necked them up to 30 caliber, the started sizing them down to 7mm. After every small adjustment I checked for fit in the rifle. I finally got it to where there was some resistance closing the bolt but was not tight or hard to close. I’m hoping that after annealing and forming the false shoulder, I’ll be in business.
