Got a dummy made up for the 7.7×58 Japanese .
Paper patched , NOE 311-230 FP . The patch isn't long enough I don't think but that's why I practice on odd brass . This bullet only needs 1900fps to reach the arbitrary assigned 1000 ft lb at 100 yd the alloy should expand and stay together .

Put these together last night. 6.5x55, 160gr Hawk round nose, 39gr N160. I am shooting them in a 1916 Carl Gustaf M94 carbine.

On theses it should cover to the ogive line or very close . I haven't shot any of these patched yet so all I have for reference is what I tried in the 6.5 type 38 . If I had land contract on the nose Id try them where they are .
I got a chance to shoot these Sunday. It’s definitely a keeper. All were 3 shot groups at 100yds. First was 46.0gr IMR4064 on a freshly cleaned barrel about 1.5”. Next was 46.5gr, it was .268”. Next 47.0gr it was 1.3xx”. Last was 47.5gr and it was right at an inch. I’m going to load up some more Hornady 150gr BTSP with 46.5gr IMR4064, and let the man child shoot it this coming up weekend.
Here’s a pic of the winning target.

Dang man! I’d love a range trip that goes that well! Great shooting!
You’ve swayed me into re-trying some Hornady bullets recently as I picked some up during a road trip this past weekend. Since my favorite 165gr GameKing is basically unavailable, brought home a couple hundred 165gr interlocks for my .30-06. Hopefully it will be a good winter project.
