The 35WhelenAI is a extremely efficient chambering. To me it would be almost perfect for elk,moose,and black bear given the right choice of bullet.
My choice of action would be single shot (Ruger #1) because of the strength and you could have a longer bbl for the same OAL of the gun. To me a 24-26" would be perfect.

I always wanted a 35 whelen improved. Ive got a standard 35 whelen in a Remington 7600 pump action. That 7600 has been a great rifle.
