    Fireforming brass

I was at the range fireforming 375 whelen improved brass. A friend had given me a bunch of once fired 35 whelen brass so I figured I should do something with them.

235gr Speer semi spitzer, loaded .002” into the lands, with 53.5gr of IMR4064. I love the way they look.

Hopefully soon I will start working up a load with 270gr Speer spbt.

The 35WhelenAI is a extremely efficient chambering. To me it would be almost perfect for elk, moose, and black bear given the right choice of bullet.
My choice of action would be single shot (Ruger #1) because of the strength and you could have a longer bbl for the same OAL of the gun. To me a 24-26" would be perfect.
I absolutely love most AI's. Great gun you got there sir. ---- SAWMAN
Why just dance when you can "rock and roll".

I always wanted a 35 whelen improved. Ive got a standard 35 whelen in a Remington 7600 pump action. That 7600 has been a great rifle.

I got to test some Speer 270gr btsp a couple weeks ago. They shot really well. Ive got 5 more loaded up to chronograph.

58.0gr of RL15, .020” off the lands. Hopefully they will be running about 2500fps.

I remember watching a guy do that at the range one day.... he was using cream o wheat and wax.... smelled amazing. he sat there for a couple hours.

I wished I knew more then to ask more questions.

Ive never used the cream of wheat method. Ive always just shot a bullet jammed into the lands.

I first got interested in using it when my buddy shot cowboy action type stuff... loaded up super low recoil rounds and used that as a packing.
