308 RL15 (powder) 150gr Fmjbt using LCLR brass

Anyone use RL15 powder with LC brass and 150gr Hornady Fmjbt bullet? If someone who uses this recipe I'd greatly appreciate a idea where to start. I DO have load data from Hornady and Alliant, but LC brass has a different capacity then standard 308 brass. BTW AR-10 platform.

I don’t use the same exact recipe but I have tested the crap out of 165gr sst with LC brass and RL 15 in my armalite AR10. I think what I’ve done with my combination will be a good starting place for you with the 150’s. In the Hornady book after 308 Winchester loads is a section for 308 service rifle loads. They are reduced from the standard 308 loads. I use the 168gr data for my 165gr, you could use the 155gr data for your 150gr. I have found that I reach my pressure limit at the max loads listed in the service rifle section, with varget and rl15.

I'm at work now but could you share what the 155gr data is with RL15 and varget for service 308?

Thank you. I appreciate it. I tried 43gr at 2.700 of varget and got great groups, but wasn't sure on RL15. Looks about the same? BTW I have some 165gr SST what did you find for a good recipe using RL15?

With the 165gr sst, LC brass, CCI 200, COAL 2.750”, my sweet spot with RL15 is between 41.0 -41.5gr. Ive tested 41.0 41.3 and 41.5 multiple times and they all three shoot moa and have the same point of impact. So I opted to use 41.3

With my Hornady 150gr Fmjbt should I seat them to 2.700 like 308 or 2.750? In the service 308 the 155gr are 2.800. When I tried varget I used 2.700 at 43gr. Was getting a hair over moa at 100 yards. BTW I use CCI 200 primers as well.

I used 2.750” for the sst because that’s what Hornady loads them to for standard 308. I would start where the book has them seated to.
