When I was playing with the round. CFEBLK shines with the heavier bullets. H110 for the 100’s-125’s

19.0gr of 1680 is getting 1870fps in my 16” barrel with 150gr Remington PSPCL.
Not at the max either.
I’m away from my data but I do remember the 150gr Remington PSPCL ended up at 2.220”. Being it was a flat base bullet, you can get away with it.
This was about the max length I was comfortable with of the bullet (or lack of) in the case for neck tension. The boat tail probably won’t work at this length.
I’m also doing a 150gr RN at 1.900”, same powder charge, in a 7 1/2” barrel.

Hornady lists 2.090” for their #3037 150gr FMJBT.
This is corrected from the 9th Edition that showed 2.220”.
Do you mind telling us what the 150gr BT bullets will be used for.
Are these bullets "pulls",military,etc ??
Being FMJ, I would guess NOT hunting bullets. Loading for the 300BLK, flat base bullets are your friend. So are bullets <131grs . . . especially for hunting. --- SAWMAN
Why just dance when you can "rock and roll".

I use Barnes 110gr Tac-Tx for hunting , I bought 500rds of the Hornady 150gr fmj/bt just for plinking and punching holes in paper .... just not finding much load data for a starting point ....
I bought the 150gr in hopes of getting a super cheap subsonic plinking round. I have come up with a few loads that stay subsonic and still cycle the action. Just need to load up some more and test for position sensitivity of the powder.

Just don't tell my wife how much any of this really costs.
Hornady’s 9th (and probably 10th) Edition has data for 1680, 4227 and H110 with the FMJBT.
Hodgdon has data with CFE-BLK but with Hornady’s Interbond bullet, so the length is probably going to be incorrect for the FMJBT.
The 150's are kind of light for subs. My choice would be the 208's.
My 300BLK 's are a bolt gun and a single shot. The single shot is a fun gun. Have used it for hunting only so never used any heavy bullet.
If if did not shoot so good with the Barnes 110's,I would have the freebore lengthened and shoot the 220SMK's at 950. --- SAWMAN
