    Boyd’s Gunstocks

I’m looking at getting a Boyd’s AT-One for a savage axis I have. Does anyone have any experience with them, good or bad?

    Thanks!

I have one of their thumbhole stocks for an old centerfeed savage 110 and I'm impressed with it for the price point. I went into it not expecting a top shelf, rock solid, bullet proof stock when I got mine. I didnt get that either, but I am very happy with what I got. I have another one planned for a browning bbr.

**notice both rifles have pretty limited aftermarket stock options, if I could have spent another $100 and got a better stock I probably would have, but the options just aren't there for the rifles I'm putting the Boyd's on so they get the Boyd's.

That’s how it is for the Axis. I don’t think there are many stocks out there, and it’s not a high end rifle. It’s bound to be better than the plastic stock that’s on it now...

I put one on my 03 Springfield, so far my only complaint is the adjustment buttons are really stiff

Couple things to think about before buying a Boyd's.
I called them a couple of months ago in re. to a T/C Prohunter stock set. You could not pick a LOP and what they made was waaaaaaay long IMO.
Also . . . cutting laminate can be extremely tricky. This of course, depending on how it is made. --- SAWMAN

I’ve installed a few for myself and also a few for friends. All were sporter type stocks and all required a bit of inletting. I’ve always been happy with the outcome.
I’ve handled the AT One and can’t get past the lack of ergonomics. Great idea, I just wish it weren’t so square ish.
