    Guns as wedding present

    Hi all,

My close friend is getting married in a little over 18 months. The thought crossed my mind that I could gift the new couple a pair of matching, slighty customized (engraved grips or light engraving on guns) his and hers set. Something along the lines of a pair of single actions, maybe a pair of o/u shotguns, or some 1911s or Beretta 92s.

We all went to highschool together, and within the last 4 years my buddy has become almost as much of a gun nut as I have. He is also extremely sentimental, (saving all his birthday cards and keeping the money enclosed unspent, as well as holding inherited guns in high regard) The soon to be wife is pro gun, shoots with us about 50% of the time, and has a few of her own guns, as well as buying him guns for special occasions. I believe the gift would be well recieved, but wanted to see if anyone else had done it. One small concern I have is the weapons may never be shot, being how sentimental he is. I'm looking for something they will both enjoy, just as plinking or sporting arms. They are well stocked in the ccw and home defence categories.

18 months should be enough time to have about $1k to work with comfortably as far as budget. I was envisioning a pair of nice looking pistols, consecutive serial numbers, done up as a his and hers or Mr. and Mrs. set, placed in a presentation case.

Thanks all for the input. Hopefully I can make it happen.

I like the idea, sounds cool. Don't know if it can be done for $1000 though.

We ordered our boys a set of sequential numbered Henry lever action 22WMR’s for their 22nd birthday. Collectable and fun to shoot. Just a thought.

I should have included that they are twins, and both love to shoot mine.
