How often do you verify powder charges?

For me it depends on the powder and the purpose. I usually load (bulk) with room for error top and bottom. I check every 10-15 but I always do a visual. For load development is every single one but that’s a given. For the most part the auto drum works well for me as long as I keep a rhythm

I use a powder cop die, so I can tell if it’s off by usually 0.2gr either way. But I still weigh one in 20 or so.

I know it is a week later, but I finally got a chance to try the Dram Worx hopper out. Used AA# 2 which is a very fine grain and would show static quickly and saw zero, I am impressed and it is nice to see the powder so clearly through the pyrex. I highly recommend this item!

it is my opinion, with a 550 or 650, you are more likely to make a mistake once dialed in, than the machine with a well selected powder. I'm with Big Eddie on frequency, I'll add that whatever frequency, the process should be the same routine every time. I keep enough bins around I can swap them frequently. If I look down and see powder in the scale. I have a smaller lot of suspect product. That is my typical escape.

My number of checking rounds may vary. However, I stop and check everything in my 550 if for any reason the cycle is stopped. This check mainly confirms the charged case is as it should be. For me it has been every twenty rounds unless there is a stoppage.

Depends on the load and how close it is to max as well as what the purpose of the ammo is. Bulk blasting with room +/- for error I weigh a charge before filling a 50rd loading block then visually confirm that all cases appear to have the same charge prior to seating bullets.
