Over the weekend, I resized a bunch of brass I picked up from a fellow shooter at the range. He was shooting a Colt 6920 and a Styer AUG A3. 5 of those cases got stuck in my sizing die and had to be extracted. (There was definitely enough lube on the cases, and they got stuck anyway.) When I got them out, I finally thought to check the length of the sized and now deformed/unusable brass. It came out to 1.79”. I’m gonna guess that’s why they got stuck in the die. Anyone know the (interior) length/depth of a 223 small base sizing die? Is brass that’s too long likely to get stuck more often that not? Has anyone else had this happen to them?
