    9mm

. I’m sure this topics been beat to death but I’m new to the 9mm side is it normal for 15-20% of your loaded brass to be unable to hold the bullet in place, I’ve spun crimp die completely out and tried many different things

Ummm. No. That’s not normal. Resize your brass?

A Lee U (undersized) sizing die might fix that problem. It sizes the brass .003" smaller than a standard die. What are your "sized" I.D. measurements compared to the bullet diameter? Is your die set all the way down against your shell holder/shell plate?

Hornady I don’t use an expander because if I do the bullets just drop until they rest on powder

I’m half tempted to throw these Hornadys in the trash like I did on my 308 dies

Does your Sizing/Decaping die touch the shell holder on the up stroke? If so and your bullet still drops into the case something is wrong with sizing die. Contact Hornady they will do everything they can to help.
The expanding die does not touch the shell holder, you gradually adjust it until you achieve just enough flair to start the bullet.

I’ll mess with it some tomorrow night and see what I come up with
