Will 1 crimp die do 30-06 and 308 or do I have to buy for every caliber?
i only do pistol have the 4 die set for each caliber. makes life a lot easier.
I run everything through the Lee FCD. As has already been said I really like the carbide ring on the pistol dies because it does a final resize on finished cases.
Nemo me impune lacessit
i also use them on every cal i do.On pistol cal that i cast i have 2 sets i punch the carbide ring out on one
so it doesent size my bullets down
There are so many different options you can use for bullet seating/crimping, that you have to just try them and see what suits your taste. I've met and talked to different people with differing opinions, none of them are wrong, they all just like different things. That said, I would first get the FCD for a caliber you shoot that goes in a tubular magazine, like a 30-30 Winchester. Those calibers absolutely need to have the extra crimp, out for no other reason, than because the bullet can slip in and compress the load, or fall into the cartridge, if it's not a case filling load. This can cause problems.
