? on AR pistols

Talking with a bud in PA this am,I just ordered a 16" 300 blk upper have a few 80% lowers, etc etc, his ? was is it legal to "build and possess" a AR platform pistol with a 80% lower and it be unregistered as the rifles are, been searching but getting lost in the google mess of ads for selling me stuff,or a link to ATF/BATFE and AR platform pistol regs.

You can build whatever you want, make sure that you use a pistol brace and not a standard butt stock or you will be in trouble.

You’ll want barrel under 16” overall length under 26” brace to trigger measurement under 13.5” only a state would have rules for registering a build. This is just what I know with MN rules

I hope this helps explain things. As long as he uses a brace or pistol tube and isn’t trying to make an SBR he should be alright. Better to just not draw unwanted attention
