    Bad load, or pistol problems

Took my youngest nefew to range over weekend. One the pistols used was a rugar p89. Was my dads gun. In past he had problems, jams and worse bullet get stuck in barrel. He adjusted power used hodg universal. Think box he loaded said 3.2ish powder pushing 115gr rd nose copper bullet. Before died he thought had fixed powder. But on some store ammo not reloads sister bought. It jams. Any ideas?

3.2gr for 115gr bullet seems too light ... I used Univ for a while and if memory serves me right I think I was around 4.1gr of powder

I looked at 9 different manuals and the lowest starting amount is 4.0gr, even Hodgdon lists that as the starting load.

My nefew said he thought if memory served him dad was loading light. But donno why he was. Used to be good data and loads no problems. But looking back few things brushed off as nothing, was signs. Was a double lung transplant patient few things of forgetting was lack oxygen. Gonna give accurate #2 a try for range

Give accurate no2 a try and see if the same thing happens. What kind of jams were you having with the factory ammo? Failure to feed, failure to extract? Stove pipe?

Maybe a little heavier load would help with that

I have no doubt a heavier load, of at least 4.0 will fix you up.

Ok thank you. All the "old" previous data, was thrown away by sister. After dad dieing. She has done nothing but screw me, and gets mom to go along with. Was supposed to inheired all 26 of dads guns but sister GIVING. Them away least 8 including hand guns. When dad died from heartattack from ant rejection drugs for double lung transplant. Hadnt got outta hospital parking garage she started on mom..dad was given his guns to her 2 boys. And dad was buy youngest son a car. Dad left will given to mom but told her what was to go to me my sister. Sister bullys mom and mom takes her side even tho knows she lying. Screwing me on guns. And money i was suppose to get. Given pistol to her 18 yr old saying cant buy til 21 yrs old but can own (he has a carry permit.) If its gifted to him. I thought handguns have be transfered when switch ownership or after someone dyes and you get gun.sad part she a half sister not blood to my dad. Mom dad engaged while he was in Vietnam came home mom was pregnant and dad hadnt had leave state side. But she mom golden child. Get fuked up on meds. When out to eat she has to lay down in empty bench table. Or get busted stealing off mom dad and mom wouldnt do nothing knowing it her but argue blame someone else
