I'm currently in Eastern Montana where the coyotes are thick and the shots can get long.

Another one of Wes' bullets found it's Mark... Kind of. 652 yard shot. Saw the hit, saw the death dance, saw the coyote tip over. When I got to the spot, the dog was gone... But he did a neat dance and left a bunch of fur. I'm sure he's dead somewhere. 22-243 Middlestead [emoji4]

What bullet did you end up with for that rifle? What velocity are you getting out of it?

I'm shooting the 75gr Hornady ELD-M'S at just over 3300fps with IMR 8208XBR

I'm not done testing yet, but that load will do while I try other powders and such.

Awesome! I’ve got some good enough loads also. Good way to get the gun out shooting quicker.

Cowcatcher, the 22-250 pictured is a 1:10 twist and 12.5" LOP if I am not mistaken.
You are getting a super fast rotational velocity from the bullet and it will come apart fast. Great for a fast kill and energy dump.
I came very close to buying one like yours and now wish I would have as they have been discontinued. The long bbl and longer LOP still isavailable and I just might end up with one of those or a Compact chambered in 6Creedmoor. --- SAWMAN
Why just dance when you can "rock and roll".

Called this fella in to 275 yards. Again, I was watching dogs way way out there and this one snuck up on me. Bullet preformed wonderfully, exit about the size of a 50 cent piece. Killed one earlier that was bad mangy, no photo of him. Easy 100 yard shot.

Yes it's the Ruger American compact in 22-250. I have one in 223 also. They are handy lil suckers.

    Thank you sir.
I will most likely end up with a Ruger American chambered in 6Creedmore just for its 1:7.7 twist. I really like that rate over the 243Win's typical 1:9.
Will buy another stock (Compact) from Ruger to drop it in.
Good hunting to you sir. --- SAWMAN
