use old Tees all the time,as far as size I dont measure them just get one to go down the barrel snug/tight then cut more the same size,22 cal is the pain but use what ya have and gets my barrels clean so no harm no foul
Pretty is subjective if they start out black as coal and end up clean when all said and done them clean ones are pretty as all get out
