What is your “go to powder’ for 300BLK? Also loading for 5.56, 762x39,450BM

Hello to all and Happy New Year.

I’ve been reloading off & on for 42 years now. Mostly for pistol. I just started reloading for 450Bm and have had good success with Lilgun 39grs using Hornady 250grn FTX and Winchester small rifle primers.
My question is: For the following calibers, what powders would you recommend and why?
    300BLK
    .762x39
    5.56

I am mainly shooting 100-200 years for target practice at my local club.
I also thought that I read somewhere that Winchester 296 ball powder is the exact same powder s Lilgun. Does anyone have any info on that?

    Thank You in Advance;

    WilliamT

So far with the 300aac, AA1680 for jacketed stuff and AA2230 for the cast powder coated. For my needs they give good performance, velocities and groups in my 300aac firearms. Trail Boss won't cycle anything but it's fun in the single shot pistol for real low velocity stuff.
Been reloading with BL-C(2) for the .223rem since 1988 with 55gr to 65gr jacketed bullets and haven't really found the need to change. There was a time frame of about 18 months it was not available in my area and I used AA2230 with no problems but went back to BL-C(2) when the supply returned.

Pretty sure it is 296 and H110 are considered the same, not Lil' Gun.
Some Lyman data shows certain loads using identical quantities.
The pressures and velocities are real close to each other but do vary a little.

That is wrong. W296 and H110 are the same powder, not Lil'Gun.

If I were you, I'd take a hard look at Accurate 1680. It is the powder invented for 7.62x39, and it is a universal powder (sub-sonic or super-sonic) for 300 Blackout, and I found some 450 BM loads on Ramshot's online load-guide.

I've loaded 223 with 1680, but it is not ideal. It works better with very light bullets (45gr or so). It is very similar to the powder Russian steel-cased ammo is loaded with, but just a touch faster, so even less reliable. I'd really rather go with Win748, Ramshot Xterminator, Accurate 2230, or H335 for a better performing 223 powder.

    A couple of loads using Lil'Gun, 296 and H110 in 300aac from Hodgdon's 2018 Annual Manual.

When there were shortages of supplies I bought up whatever powder I ran across. I use H110, Lil Gun, and CFE BLK in my .300 Blackout. All work fine for me. Believe my brother in law said that H110 is a powder he saw load date for the .450 BM. I haven't yet jumped into that realm yet. I have the brass, scope, and plenty of powder but not rifle yet. Good luck with whatever you do.
