I just like to keep it simple and cheap. I use Hornady 165gn SP in my model 740 .308 loaded with 43.5 grains of 4064 for either side of 2600 FPS. I get around 2 inch groups at 150 yards, which isn't bad for a 60+ year old gas gun. The longest shot on 2 dear last season was 80 yards and both of them bolted for 3 or 4 steps and went down.
