So I picked up some brass at my local range. All of the brass measurements were 1.740 - 1.760. I have a triway trimmer and they don't fit in the hole. I have never reloaded 223. Only pistol calibers I reload. So my question is I should size them and then trim right? Sizing should get that bulge out correct so they fit in the trimmer?

Yes plus you'll always wanna size first. It will lengthen the case when you do. Not alot but it will. So if you trim first your length could be off when you finish sizing.

Yes. Depending on how hot they're loaded will depend on how much they're stretched.

No problem. This is just a suggestion but it's what I do to make trimming easier. I took 1 shell from each caliber I load and I trimmed it to the exact length. I made a shell holder and put them in it. Now every time I have to trim I have and perfect one to set my trimmer to. Its alot faster than trim a little and check.

Gotta love free brass. DHS practices at my range and they don't pick up anything... even live ammo they drop.
