    Mec 9000

Just got this mec 9000and I love it so far. Haven't really loaded much on it, but have crimped some new hulls i loaded that wouldn't stay crimped. Man that thing is awesome and so smooth. I think I got a good deal, paid 200. Anyone have one that could give me some pointers or warnings. Also this universal charge bar is new to me. I have a formula but haven't used it to see if I'm understanding.

Congrats on your purchase, I have no advice to offer, but I’d really like to get into shot shells....

And the addiction spreads. Lol. I use to reload shot shells. No more than I shoot now it wasn't worth it.

I’d shoot more if I reloaded. We have a really nice club near my house. I’d blast 400 a week at least.

It’s all about having a good stack height in the shell. Having too much material or too little will result in crimping problems.

    What’s your recipe?

34 gn blue dot and 12 00 buck. It's something new I'm just trying from lyman book. Any suggestions on a load with low recoil. Mercy I'm gonna try 9 00 buck with whatever the book calls for.

That was a screaming good deal. My brother has loaded probably hundreds of pounds of powder on our. I've only done probably about 4500 rounds or so on it as I do not have as much time anymore to shoot and still have good stock. On the crimp, sounds like you need to lower it a little and also make sure you are using the right crimp as there is a 6 point and an 8 point crimp. If not mistaken, my brother believes a dime shoot fit in the end and be flush to be at the right depth of the crimp. Also, if you have older hard hulls like Winchesters they may not hold and occasional Federal hulls.
