I got some once fired brass for 6.5 grendel from wes. Using s&b large rifle primers and a few of the pockets seem loose. Anyone ever run into this using s&b primers? Haven't tried cci or any others yet.

I have never used S&B large rifle primers, but have noticed through the years that some primers do fit looser than others.

Brownells has a go/no go gauge for primer pockets that’s a must have for reloaders.
S&B makes their primer pockets super small on their brass, and do undersize their primers a bit.
If you have CCI, try those for sure.
Maybe it’s the new 7.62 and 308 brass I’m using for my Yeti but I used S&B primers and they were TIGHT. Like ridiculously so. Maybe I’ve just got tight pockets?

I had some once fired 308 mil surp brass. I worked a short 300 rounds and I can push the primer in by hand. Bought them several years ago from everglades, so probably wouldn't do any good to see if maybe they got a bad batch. All head stamps are sbs 06 or 08. I had to take off the crimp so I guess the were over pressured.
