    Converting 300 Blkout brass

Is there any brass that’s better than others for converting to 300 BO?
I know.. I know... “just buy from Wes and be done with it”
I like doing things myself. I have thousands of mixed headstand .223/556 brass laying around. Which ones convert the best?

I always use Lake City brass when converting to 300BO. I've also used Federal Cartridge Company too.
Here's a link to a site that gives the recommended .223 brass to convert.

    Anytime buddy!! Thank you!!
A lot of people have wanted to do their own, and I always say give it a shot.
90% come back and decide it isn't worth the headache, since 1000 pieces will last most people a lifetime with the amount of reloads you get from it

Lake City has been the best for me. But really it's not worth the time. Fun to do a few though.

I’ve done it a lot. It’s not my favorite thing to do. It’s much easier to buy it already converted. It is very labor intensive to convert it without using a really expensive Dillion and ammobot setup. Plenty of YouTube videos of people cranking them out that way. I consider it like most aspects of reloading. I use it as a hobby. The more I can do myself, the better. Casting my own projectiles, my subsonic 300blackout is reloaded for about $.08 each. My brass is free. Small rifle primers are $.03 each. $.03 of A1680. And about $.02 in lead and powder coating. Of course, since it’s a hobby, I don’t consider time spent as a cost factor.

    Like he sez.^^^^^
I swooped up 300rds of converted brass from a guy over on another forum several years ago.
Up until a couple months ago I only had a 300BLK in a single shot and a bolt gun so I recovered virtually all my brass.
Now I have a Ruger Mini-14 chambered in 300BLK so I end up losing a few. I find that now, later in life,I have better things to do than that level of brass prep. ---- SAWMAN

I’m starting the process of converting today. Just did 3 pieces to test my method everything seems like it’ll work. My problem is... all of my manuals are too old for this caliber. If some one could share the title page from a newer manuals I’d appreciate it. The one with the diagrams for the brass please. Also has anyone seen any data for American select powder? I have a metric shit ton that I’d like to keep using up.
