I currently have the 308 benchrest die set. Is it worth it to upgrade the seating die to the micrometer seater?

I have many forster sets. Most micrometer and a few benchrest. Is it necessary? Not really. If you do a lot of testimg, seating depth adjustments and so forth .... yes. I can dial the seater dead nuts. Worth the upgrade parts or whole die? Have to decide yourself if you really need or want such.
I have no idea what the hell I am doing.
So I just keep shooting. It all works out in the end.
I literally just today got my Redding deluxe super whatever dies which has a micrometer seating die. And i think it's amazing! Especially, as previously stated, if you do alot of testing of seating depths. If you do, you will never regret the ease of adjustment.

I have the rcbs competition dies which have micrometer and love them. The 22 caliber was bought for. 223. The door body works for all 22caliber. Bought different seater plug and extended shell holder. Same with 30 caliber.

Dont really play a whole lot with length. Heard they are better for precision loads and was thinking if picking one up and using the benchrest seating die for plinking rounds
If you want precision you're better off experimenting with seating depths. Just my opinion. I never did before, but I've found I can turn .5 minute at 100yrds loads into .25 minute loads by tinkering with the seating depths and still keep within magazine length.

True. Probably need to start playing with seating depths
