My 2018 whitetail harvest. Got a decent 8pt and a really nice doe. They were both about 55 yard shots and about 5 minutes apart. The doe was first, then the back came next, following after her. They both only made it about 20-30 yards.

My son also got his first deer ever- a nice little 9pt buck. He’s very excited about it. I’m pretty proud. He was about 60 yards and dropped on the spot.

We used my Savage 10 chambered in 308 and my hand loads. It’s the 195gr TMK over 44.8gr of Varget. Calculated impact velocity was right around 2590fps. The bullet performed perfectly, even at that close of a range/higher impact velocity. That’s thanks to the high amount of sectional density/mass of the 195gr version. I’ve now got 4 deer with this bullet/load and am 100% convinced it’s the best choice out there.
