M2 AP loaded into 308

I know when I played around with the SS109's (62gr) for .223 it was recommend to use 68-69gr load data due to the bullet length.
I googled M2 AP and a couple of articles came up on using them in .308. I would look for a bullet thats as close to the same length which will most likely be a heavier grain bullet and start there. I'm sure someone here (probably Wes) has experience with these.
