I have done this several times in my years on the single stage presses.
I wrap the press with decap die in place,with an old towel. Then raise ram to decap . . . SLOWLY. Never cracked a primer.
Primers take a very quick hit. I'm not sure that you could crack one no matter how fast you decapped. --- SAWMAN
