    Century Arms GP WASR-10 7.62x39

I have zero experience with an AK or the 7.62x39 round. What's a good powder for this caliber in a 123gr bullet?

I’m assuming you recently acquired a century arms AK? I’d like to see how well they run. Sorry I can’t help with the load data ..

That’s the beauty of what we can do as reloaders

It will be here Tuesday. I bought a cheap box of ammo to run through it. Had brass and bullets coming from SRS. It was more of an impulse buy, been wanting one since a few of my buddies have AK's and swear by them... also picked up a stainless Ruger 10/22 since Washington state classifies them as a assault rifle now...

I don’t load x39.... AKs love the cheap steel garbage.

I bought a couple hundred boxes from the BX a few months ago but really only shoot 1 of my SKS and occasionally shoot my x39 AR

I don't have an AK. Have a x39 bolt that I am starting to load for and that won't help. I honestly would search Youtube and Full30 for stuff by IV8888. He reloads and might have some input on the subject. I would take his advice anyway. He loads a lot of stuff and is experienced enough from what I have seen to be a reliable source. If you are unsure go a hair lower than what he recommends and work up.

I've got a good amount of .223 experience. I'll do the usual and start low. Work up a nice target/fun round. The gun is more of a cool factor/always wanted one purchase. My AR's are where my primary focus is. That's why I love reloading, no shortage of options!

I think I have seen the guys on Iraq Veteran talk about loading for the x39. It is one of their faves and they hunt with it a bit. I know they reload up to the .577 and that isn't something for beginners. I believe he has a fave bullet too for hunting......I might have to go back through some of their videos. I am curious now.

I'll have to look as well. I watch a lot of his videos. Especially like the meltdown vids.[emoji16]
