    380 ACP in 357 Mag

Any reason why I wouldn't want to shoot 380 in a 357 revolver?

I know the obvious like I will need moon clips, the bullet is .355 instead of .357 and 38 special is probably cheaper and more powerful. Mostly just curious.

I know you can't shoot 9mm because the tapered case is too fat but the 380 drops right in the cylinder.

Never heard of anyone doing it, and not sure why you'd want to.
Not sure the guns would accept moon clips, not sure there are moons for 380.
Just shoot 38spl in it like it was designed to

The cylinder face would have to be machined to accept the moon clip's

The moon clips were certainly the problem. Haha. As tight as those are on the 357 mag cases I figured they would still hold the 380 and they don't. I had to put them in the moon clip head stamp down on a table and then put the revolver muzzle up and lower the cylinder down on the rounds. Then I slid a piece of paper under them to keep them from falling out when I upright the gun. But it worked.

According to Saami the 357 mag case is 0.005" larger diameter than the 380 ACP so they rattle in there and the cases would likely split upon firing as well as probably blow gas out the back of the cylinder into the shooters face.

Yep. Just sounds like a bad idea all the way around.
Cool thought for the sake of a conversation

    I'd buy a 9mm one before a 380.

This started with trying to find a 9mm cylinder for the 627 V-comp for cheaper plinking/practice. No luck though. Anyone know a source?

Yeah, I wouldn't waste my time with .380. If you reload that caliber makes NO sense. It is more expensive to reload. The bullets and brass are more expensive so it make ZERO sense to me. And, last time my buddy checked prices of the ammo in a gun store the 9mm was $4 a box cheaper. Why pay more for an inferior caliber?

Because no one makes a 9 anywhere near as small as an LCP 2.
