    6.5 Creedmoor pet load

What's everyone shooting out of their Creedmoor?
What powder, bullet and cases are you using? How many firings do you get out of your cases?
    Thanks!!!

Esabatm that's some awesome results. Hope to get there one day. Have a question for you though how many firings do you get out of your starline brass. My primers started blowing out on the 4 firing.

I have between 5 and 8 on my current Starline cases. I had about 10 on my last batch and retired them to my AR6.5 and that did them in its rough on brass. Never had a really loose primer pocket.

My pet load is as follows, however you should work up your own charge based on what your rifle likes.

    Lapua 6.5 Creedmoor brass
    CCI BR4 primers
    Alliant Reloder 16 powder
    Berger 140 grain Hunting VLD
    0.020" off the lands
2,821 fps with ES of 7-8 and SD of 3.6

RPR 6.5 Creedmoor. Normal groups are in the sub 0.5MOA over a 5 shot string, most being in the 0.30" range.

I'll have to go back. And look at my charge weight, but I think it's 43.0 or 43.2 grains. My barrel length is 24". I could be wrong on charge weight. Lapua brass has less internal volume, so it's below max charge. I have pushed up to 2,890fps before pressure signs, but the accuracy started falling off. So I settled back to where I am now.

41.5 of RL17 drives my 140SMK about 2900FPS out of a 26” Bartlein. Yes, this is in a Hornady book. BR-2 Primers.

5 shot groups cloverleafed and about dime size at 100YDS.

    SD-5FPS

ZERO pressure issues and I am on my 15th reload with Win brass. Tight primer pockets and consistent neck tension.

RL17 runs circles around the love of everyone’s life, H4350. It is temp stable, VERY consistent FPS, costs far less and almost everyone has it in stock.

I always snicker when I see people loose their minds over H4350.

Hodgdon pulled an amazing marketing trick with 308 168gr Amax loads from Hornady.

It used to be they printed on the box of ammo something to the effect of “To duplicate this loading H4350 may be used”.

And people lost their damn minds. NOWHERE did it ever say H4350 was the exact powder used.

ETA: This loading is Supersonic to 1200yds per numerous calculators.
