Do you guys think that a 12 twist .223 would stabilize the 65gr Sierra gameking? Im thinking the twist is too slow for that bullet, but was wondering if anybody has tried.

I would say not. Plan to hunt with it?
Was thinking about trying it out for my son, but figured Id have to go with a 55gr or so.

Yes, deer.

No sir. We tried the M855 (62gr green tip) out of our XM177E2's (1:12) when we first could get our hands on them. They would not stabilize.
For full disclosure,I do not know the length difference (if any) between them and the 65gr SGK. --- SAWMAN
Why just dance when you can "rock and roll".

If the goal is deer hunting, with that twist rate, I would use a 50gr V-Max I believe. The light projo will love that twist rate and those particular projos are just devastating . Not sure if they make a ELD-X in 55 or 50gr but that also is a terrific expanding projo. The 69gr is too heavy though as previously stated. Good luck sir

Please do not forget the no lead type of bullets. However, remember that they are longer than normal.
The 12 twist should stabilize a 50gr TSX from Barnes, driven fast.
Try to pick a non boat tail bullet if possible.
Was wondering what gun we are talking about here ?? --- SAWMAN
