1:12” twist .223

Please do not forget the no lead type of bullets. However,remember that they are longer than normal.
The 12 twist should stabilize a 50gr TSX from Barnes,driven fast.
Try to pick a non boat tail bullet if possible.

It’s an old Remington 700 adl sporter. If I go the deer hunting route with it, it will be with the barnes. I had already planned on getting him his own rifle, ( in a bigger caliber), but was just toying around with the idea of him using the 223 first.

I'll tell ya Jeff . . I have killed alot of deer and hogs with a 223Rem.
Pull the right bullet in the right place,hit bone going in . . and . . they dead. ---- SAWMAN
