So I loaded up some 300gr Berrys and some 350 gr Xtremes. I had terrible results with the Berrys. Like so bad I was questioning if it was me. I had a large target set up at 100m and was struggling to put all 3 rounds on paper. After I finished with the 300's I loaded up 5 factory Underwood loads. 4 were pretty much touching in a line and I had 1 flier a few inches low.
Makes me wonder if it's a bad powder bullet combo or if I was deforming the bullets from the power behind them. All the holes in the paper looked normal and didn't seem to show signs of tumbling or coming apart but I think my best group was like 6" some were over 12" some were maybe even larger! I actually blew a primer out on the last round I shot and ceased the test so I have 6 rounds to pull.
With the 350gr Xtreme I moved the target to 50m. I shot great groups with them (at least compared to the Berrys). My worst groups were probably 4-5" and my better ones were maybe an inch. I think I actually blew 1 bullet up though. 1st shot on my 3rd to last group missed the whole damn target. I was pretty confused and looked closely in my spotting scope and saw small marks in the splatter target and a slit in the splatter target above that were new. The rest of the bullet shot fine though.
I shot 3 bullets at each load. The Series 1 is the 1st shot of each groups, 2 is the 2nd, 3 is the 3 and AVG is the average of the 3 shot groups.
