I know the feeling. Hornady starts off so low. At least with my lee book I can start from the bottom and work my way up .3grs at a time and be at or near max by the time I get to the tenth row of my ammo boxes. I usually try to keep it to 3 round groups until I find decent accuracy and work around that

Gentlemen - - -> Also keep in mind that as in the above (Hodgdon),the loads are from a 1:12 bbl. That twist will handle a "little more" pressure than a 1:7 bbl.
I have never had a problem,with any chambering,starting in the books med pressure loads. Some load workups I even start fairly hot. Good example is a Win92,Ruger #1,or H&R Handi Rifle action.
