    Burn marks

Question...what could be causing the burn/carbon on the cases like that? They are 38 spl shooting 125gn plated over 4.4 titegroup

Perhaps not a tight enough crimp on them. I know my 45Colt would do it if my crimp was not tight enough

That's pretty typical with lighter loads. All my light pistols loads do that.

Yup, had I not just tumbled all my pistol brass I'd be able to show the difference between a light load and heavy. Especially with 9mm and .38/.357

Exactly. I push the 158gr XTP's real hard. The 125gr stuff is light target and some magnum loads for fun.

It was just really noticeable on the 38 and not the 357...only reason it caught my attention that much

Light loads, the brass isn’t sealing against the chamber walls and allowing the gas to get between the brass case and the chamber.

    Reloading...it’s like knitting for men.

I'd say if you tighten the crimp up you'll clean em up.
