About 40 years back I had a buddy with a Rem788 (the short bbl version) chambered in 243Win. We killed tons of woodchucks and coyotes with that gun. When he deployed he would leave the gun with me,when I deployed I would leave the gun with him. This chambering,and gun,was some of my first reloading expierances.

I have a rem 788 in 22-250 and damn that thing stacks 55 gr nosler bt. One of those rifles they quit making because it hurt the sales of the 700. Very accurate rifles.
